United States and
Libya Sign Trade and Investment Framework
Agreement
News of
May 2010 (from US Embassy Libya website at this
time...)
Assistant U.S.
Trade Representative Wilson and General People’s Committee for
Economy, Industry, and Trade Under Secretary Sarkez signed a
bilateral Trade and Investment Framework Agreement, May
2010
After two years
of negotiations, visiting Assistant U.S. Trade Representative
(A/USTR) Christopher Wilson signed the bilateral Trade and
Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) with Under Secretary Taher M.
Sarkez of the General People’s Committee for Economy, Industry, and
Trade on May 20, 2010.
U.S. Ambassador
to Libya, Gene A. Cretz, welcomed the TIFA as the latest step in a
joint effort by the United States and Libya to broaden and deepen
our bilateral economic relations. The TIFA will provide a
forum to address trade issues and will help build trade and
investment relations between the United States and Libya. The
TIFA also demonstrates the importance of the bilateral relationship
to both governments, as well as our mutual interest in cultivating
bilateral trade.
A/USTR Wilson
emphasized that the TIFA is indeed an important step in developing
a more mature and complete relationship between our countries and
that the challenge moving forward will be to make the TIFA an
active, living agreement. He explained that TIFA works best
when there is ongoing interaction and sustained contact between
governments.
The TIFA
mandates the formation of a joint U.S.-Libya Council on Trade and
Investment that will address a wide range of trade and investment
issues including market access, intellectual property, labor, and
environmental issues. The Council will also help to increase
commercial and investment opportunities by identifying and working
to remove impediments to trade and investment flows between the
United States and Libya.
In the coming
months, the United States and Libya will decide on the composition
of the joint Council and will develop a list of short-term agenda
items to be addressed by the Council. For the United States,
supporting Libya’s efforts to implement World Trade Organization
(WTO) regulations is an important priority and will pave the way
for Libya’s accession to the WTO.

A former official from within the ranks of the Federal Bureau of Investigation is reporting that US and NATO forces have landed outside of Syria and are training militants to overthrow the regime of President Bashar al-Assad.
Whistleblower Sibel Edmonds, formerly a translator with the FBI, wrote over the weekend that American soldiers are among the NATO troops that have mysteriously and suddenly landed on the Jordanian and Syrian border. According to her, several sources internationally have confirmed the news, although the US media has been instructed to temporarily censor itself from reporting the news.
Additionally, Edmonds says that American and NATO forces are training Turkish troops as well, to possibly launch a strike from the north of Syria.
Edmonds writes that an Iraqi journalist based out of London has confirmed that US forces that vacated the Ain al-Assad Air Base in Iraq last week did in fact leave the country as part of President Obama’s drawdown of troops, but rather than return home, the soldiers were transferred into Jordan during the late hours of Thursday evening....

all Libyan people, the Great Man Made River project which provides
70% of Libyans with pure deep aquifer water. The Libyan people
achieved this without borrowing a penny from
Rothschild.
3. Libya were debt-free.
It had the highest standard of living in Africa, & above
Russia, Brazil & Saudi Arabia according to the
UN.
4. All loans are debt
free. Usury (interest on loans) is against the
law.
5. Before Qaddafi came
to power, less than one fifth of the people were literate. Now it's
83%.
6. Free healthcare. If
treatment is not available in Libya, then the government will fund
foreign healthcare.
7. Libya is thank to
Great-Man-Made-River project more self sufficient in food
